Green smoothies are still one of our favorites and we encourage you to give them a try. The combinations of greens, fruits and vegetables are truly limitless. Just pick your own favorites and a reasonably powerful blender and give it a try. We just upgraded to a Ninja blender, which is very affordably priced, and really love it. A Blendtec or Vitamix would be nice, but the Ninja works very, very well and we quite love working with it. The recipe on our most favorite list at the moment is quite simple.
Spinach Ginger Pear Smoothie:
- 5 firmly packed cups of washed and cleaned spinach
- 3 pears (any variety will do)
- 2-inch piece of ginger, peeled and chopped
- 2-1/2 cups of Spring water
Add all ingredients to the blender.
Pulse to incorporate all ingredients and then blend at the highest setting for a couple of minutes. Serve in your favorite glasses, toast to your own health and enjoy.
