Best Ever Brownies

Best Ever Brownies

Better late than never. At last, the posting for our gluten free version of the Best Ever Brownies, which we actually managed to make a couple of days ago for a birthday celebration, but didn’t have time to actually post.

Brownies have a special place in our hearts. In our own personal experience, we have been welcomed to several homes, including our current one, by some special neighbors bearing flowers and a beautiful plate of brownies. “NOW” Brand Gluten Free Whey Too Good Brownies

NOW Brand Gluten Free Whey Too Good Brownies

Although we generally make all our baked goods from scratch, we came across the ‘NOW brand’ gluten free brownie mix, tried it out and decided to share it here. What intrigued us about this particular mix is that it contains no flour whatsoever.

NOW Brand Gluten Free Whey Too Good Brownies

The ingredients listed are: organic turbinado sugar, organic cocoa powder, instantized whey protein isolate, organic flax seed meal, guar gum, natural sea salt, organic vanilla extract, baking powder and natural almond flavor. The directions require the addition of 3 eggs, 2/3 cup of hot water and 2/3 cup of oil. We wanted to reduce the amount of the oil and instead used 1 cup of hot water and 1/2 cup of extra virgin olive oil. It bakes for about 35 minutes at 350° F/180°C and, voila, the result was pretty impressive. We all loved it.
