The days are getting cooler, in fact, it has been downright cold – with nightime temperatures hovering in the teens and low twenties. The beast, our fireplace, is being fed regularly. We can barely keep up with the demand for more wood. On our daily walks we are definitely reminded that Fall is here and Winter just around the corner. We finally had an opportunity to visit Harry’s Roadhouse in Santa Fe since they offer gluten free breakfast and lunch options. So many people had told us about it, but since they serve mostly breakfast and lunch, it was generally, and regrettably so, never that enticing an option for us, since most of these choices involve gluten, and lots of it. Through the grapevine, we learned that one of the owners is celiac, and is now continuously expanding their menu offering gluten free options to their patrons. We were told that Harry’s takes every precaution to avoid cross-contamination with gluten. Of course, hearing this, we just had to check it out.
Harry’s Roadhouse is a long-time local favorite and is known for its casual atmosphere, offering great food at an affordable price. It can be a little tricky to find, since it is just outside the inner core of Santa Fe, on the Old Las Vegas Highway (see our Restaurant Page for address and phone number), which runs alongside the I-25, in Southeast Santa Fe.
